The 2019-2020 school year is off to a great start! The boys and girls of KA are full of smiles and energy as we begin a fantastic Kindergarten year. It is wonderful to see so many familiar faces in our classroom, as many of our students attended our Pre-K program. We also have quite a few new friends joining us this year, and we are so excited to have them with us on our journey at St. Charles Borromeo.
In Kindergarten, we begin our year getting to know one other, as well as becoming familiar with our school and classroom. Our class has traveled all over the school to attend our special classes, such as Art, Library and Computer, Music, Spanish and Gym. It is so exciting to go to different classrooms and learn new things from some of our many wonderful teachers.
The children are having so much fun in the classroom as we begin our Superkids Reading program. It is exciting to meet new characters each week that help us learn letters and their corresponding sounds. This is helping us on our way to become lifelong readers.
Math class has challenged us to learn about numbers in many different ways. We are learning how to read, write, and draw our numbers. Our class continues to review shapes, by identifying, tracing, drawing and sorting. In Religion, we are learning about the wonderful gifts God has created and given to us. Our wonderful world is full of God’s many blessings- all we have to do is take a look out our window!
In Science, we will be learning all about apples! We will use our five senses to investigate the many characteristics of apples. We will also conduct various apple-based science experiments. Our unit will conclude with a day celebrating Johnny Appleseed.
Our year is in full swing here in KA and we are so excited for this wonderful adventure that lies ahead!
