Why We Chose St. Charles - The Finnegan Family

Why did the Finnegan Family choose St. Charles? Our close family friends, the O’Connors, suggested enrolling Jaxon in the Pre-K program at SCB as an alternative to day care.
To quote Irene O’Connor, “Even if it is just for Pre-K.”
When we moved from Philadelphia to New Jersey, we initially chose Mount Laurel for the school district. Then, our plan became “just Pre-K” as we were heading into the 2021-2022 school year.
I can say that on the first day of Pre-K4, September 8, 2021, the plan was still “just Pre-K”; however, the entire trajectory of our plan changed on the second day of Pre-K4.
You see, Jaxon walked right into SCB and never turned back to see that we were right there; to this day, Jaxon still heads straight into the building.
You may think this isn’t a big deal, but in previous daycare settings, leaving Jaxon was always hard and dramatic. I’m talking about tears and Jaxon being dramatically removed from Mommy.
On September 9, 2021, Mike and I looked at each other and said, “The plan just became for as long as he is happy here at St. Charles.”
Through the past few years, St. Charles has become more than a second home for Jaxon, it has become a second home for Mike and I as well. The love that our community, including teachers, administrators, staff, and Pastor, shows towards the Finnegan Family keeps us returning day after day, year after year, beyond “just for Pre-K.”
