Choosing the right school for your child can be daunting. However, when a school meets your expectations, the decision becomes straightforward.
For my husband and me, some of those expectations included quality education, a focus on morality, and a school community that is invested in all its students.
Having attended Catholic school through high school, I know how much that experience shaped who I am today.
My hope was to find a school for my children that offered both a strong emphasis on faith and a quality education, similar to what I experienced.
My husband and I moved to Cinnaminson about eight years ago, not knowing much about the area. Once we settled in, it was essential for us to find a church and a religious community to join, and we found that at St. Charles. From our very first Mass there, we felt a strong connection. For me, it resembled the parish I had grown up in and attended school.
Fast forward a few years to when it was time for our children to start Pre-K and Kindergarten. We both agreed that we wanted them to attend Catholic school because we believe in educating the whole child. When we visited the open house at St. Charles and witnessed the wonderful activities happening in the classrooms, we were convinced our children would receive an excellent education.
More importantly, we noticed how much the teachers and staff genuinely cared for their students. As a parent, it’s challenging to leave your child in someone else’s care for most of the day, but I always felt secure knowing my kids were with the teachers at St. Charles.
It was evident how dedicated each teacher and staff member was to ensuring that students learned while also building meaningful relationships with them. St. Charles truly feels like a family, and that’s the kind of environment we wanted for our children.
The small class sizes allow teachers to get to know each child personally and help them succeed academically. This also fosters friendships among the students, creating a sense of community. Additionally, there are numerous out-of-school events that provide opportunities for families to connect.
So when people ask why we chose St. Charles, the answer is simple. The school community is welcoming and caring; they share the same morals and values that we do, and most importantly, our children love attending school there.
Check back every week for a new story from one of our amazing families about why they chose St. Charles for their children.
