Why We Chose St. Charles - The Gibson Family

When my daughter was aging out of her day care someone had suggested St. Charles Borromeo because they had an all day preschool with before and after care.

We did not anticipate falling in love with the school like we did.

She started in the PreK4 program just a few weeks before her 4th birthday. She was in the Pre-K program for just shy of seven months when COVID-19 hit, and all schools shut down. Our daughter’s teacher visited with every student (socially distanced) to reassure them that they were cared for.

She went above and beyond with such young students during a very difficult time. The following year, all of the surrounding schools were doing virtual learning. We knew that would not work for our daughter’s learning style and personality, so we once again sent her to St. Charles Borromeo, and we once again fell in love with the school, the way they handled her safety, and the way they truly loved her.

When it was time for first grade, we sat down with our daughter and, as a family, discussed what school she would attend that year. She insisted that she stay at St. Charles, and we agreed with her. Every year, she tells us how much she loves St. Charles and wants to stay there. We support her because we also love St. Charles.

As a parent, I have been very impressed with the communication of the teachers and staff at the school. They all know our family by name and work to make sure that every student succeeds. I love being part of the community through volunteering at events and serving as a room parent in the classroom.

We are so grateful that someone suggested St. Charles Borromeo years ago, and we are even more thankful that my daughter feels safe and loved at school.
